I’m a big believer in giving credit when and where it is due, and this instance, the CJ’s Ghabour is not exaggerating one iota by using the word “exclusive.”

Kudos to her for the scoop.

Here’s the link, and a side note.

The future site of Decade at 1076 E. Washington is known most recently as the former home of Butchertown Grocery, but before that, it played host to Blind Pig.

EXCLUSIVE: The former Butchertown Grocery space is getting new life. Here’s who’s moving in, by Dahlia Ghabour (Louisville Courier Journal)

The first years of the coronavirus pandemic led to many beloved Louisville restaurant closing their doors. Among them were some of the most well-known fine-dining restaurants in the city: Harvest, Rye, Butchertown Grocery and most recently, Decca.

Now, a collection of veteran Decca restaurateurs are teaming up to open a new concept in the long-empty Butchertown Grocery space at 1076 E. Washington St.

The restaurant, called “Decade,” is a deliberate homage to Decca and is projected to open in May.

Ghabour adds that “Decade plans to be open Monday to Saturday for dinner service and will add a weekday lunch service at a later date.”
